Quality Control Engineer (Nijmegen)

About the Job
Operational activities:
- Inspect parts, components and semi-finished products on technical aspects (e.g. welding, dimensions, workmanship) and on documentation at sub suppliers worldwide
- Create inspection reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data; make recommendations to repair deviation
- Participate inspections with international sub-contractors, customers and classification authorities
- Support suppliers to achieve quality standards
- Create and/or support set up of quality documents (e.g. QCP, ITP)
- Support handling of NCR’s/complaints (e.g. evaluate deviations/rejections, participate in root-cause analysis)
Organizational activities:
- Support projects at suppliers in order to reach product improvement
- Support Sales/Engineering/Project Management to evaluate impact of customer requirements
- Evaluate drawings on feasibility for manufacturing
- Identify improper quality control practices and audit quality systems (e.g. procedures / work instructions)
- Evaluate the manufacturing processes, design and technology to recommend changes to improve product quality
- Perform analysis (e.g. NCR data analysis) to determine trends and define measures for improvement
- Perform projects to improve quality standards
- Educate Quality Inspectors and other staff within Alfa Laval / suppliers to ensure quality standards are understood and followed
Who you are
- MBO+ mechanical engineering
- Broad and proven knowledge of applied processes and procedures such as welding techniques
- Basic knowledge of Non Destructive Testing (MT/RT/PT)
- Visual weld inspection – level II
- Good knowledge of standards (ISO E.N., DNV rules) and quality systems
- Good knowledge of geometric measurement
- Good understanding of Quality methods (e.g. Control Plan/Reaction Plan, Problem Solving, FMEA)
- Basic understanding of methods for continuous improvement
- Limited knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, dryers, blowers, freon coolers
- 5 - 10 years experience in similar job
- Good analyzing and reporting skills
- Good oral communication skills in English and Dutch
